Lord, Surprise Me.

Lord, surprise me.These are three words and individually they really are just simple words. Yet together they are very powerful. This short sentence creates a bold prayer. This short prayer can really change how the entire statement is viewed. What happens when you ask him to be surprising? This was a prayer of my own. It isn't simple. This is not because you might be asking God for bold things. The reality is you aren't really asking God for anything. You are asking him for one thing: to show up in your life and do the unexpected. You are asking him to surprise you and that is the biggest risk you can ever take in your life. I wanted him to surprise me, but I knew I wasn't ready for what that might look like. I was trusting in God to reveal himself to me in the biggest way.
