What It is Like to Be Me.
Hello!
I realize that there may be some new people subscribed to this blog. I also recognized how I haven't ever posted a personal post about myself as a new introduction to newcomers and the recurring subscribers. My bad! In an attempt to build a larger blog platform, I have decided to push the number of posts that will be published. That's right! More things to write and more things to read.
I am 27 years old, and I still feel like I am learning what it actually means to be me. Anyone else out there? This is one of the strongest benefits of being single and doing life on my own. I'm learning things I didn't even know from the beginning. And that's actually a really exciting thing.
First of all, I have been an avid writer for the last 5 years. It was really inevitable. I wrote my very first children short story at the age of 9. Then, I finally got the nerve to launch my first blog back in 2016. These blog posts then spurred me on to writing and publishing my very first book, Hope Beyond Disappointment in 2019. I have found that I always wanted to be a writer, but I never imagined what exactly it would look like. This path may not be the one I would have picked, but I have to say it is still very rewarding.
With every word I write, I hope you hear my heart. This is the underlying message I want all my readers to hear: God loves you. He doesn't love a future version of you. He loves you. He adores you and wants so much for you. I believe in this love that He has for me and for you, and I choose to write about it. I choose to write what He is speaking and what He is teaching me. I choose to write of my mistakes and heartaches to reveal His unwavering presence in the midst of them. I choose to write because our stories are a gift to each other.
I deeply value relationships and some may even say a little too much. But I just really care, okay? I'm also an Enneagram Two, which will make sense in most of my writings. Most importantly, I desire to help all people flourish in their relationship with Jesus, their relationship with themselves, and in their friendships.
A bit more about me. . .
I was born and raised in a small, farming town in the middle of Illinois called Cowden. I currently live in Ypsilanti, Michigan, and work as an Associate Pastor at a new church plant in the area. My role is to oversee spiritual formation and community development within the church community. I help to disciple and coach people to growth into their relationship with God.
If you'd ever want to sweeten your friendship with me, your best bet is through ice cream or coffee. I will never say no to either one of these. But, honestly, one of my favorite things is spending time with friends new and old. I absolutely love to welcome people into my home to share life and stories together. There's always ice cream in my fridge. There's always a seat in my home and in my life. You are always welcome!
I'd love to connect with you! Feel free to follow me on Instagram and Facebook. In the near future, you will find me on Pinterest.
